Hello everyone,
Plenty of rain these days. I don’t have to water, but there is a pesky squirrel, (at least one) that’s digging around my plants. I’m told that bloodmeal is the best thing to sprinkle on the garden as they don’t like the smell. I’ll try it to see if I can save my tomato plants.
This week’s stories on writersblog.ca are written about fairies, as we recently celebrated Fairy Day. I begin with a humorous fairy tale from Peter Pontsa that contains a lesson for all of us, titled “Beast of Burden”. Followed by this week’s poem by Michelle Dinnick, titled “A Life With Blank Pages”. Then an attempt from me to write a humorous children’s story for pre-teens, titled “Kiri Ossity and the Tooth Fairy”, and finally two micro-stories. The first is a tongue-in-cheek proposal by Deb Rouleau, title “Worth Waiting For”. The second is a tear-jerker by Robert O’Meara, titled “Like a Feather”.
I hope you’re all having a wonderfully busy summer, but still finding time to write down your experiences. You know what they say – write what you know!
Please send feedback on this week’s stories and send me your summer stories to see them in print. brendashort@writersblog.ca
