Hello everyone,
Well, the sun is shining and the trees are changing colour. What a glorious sight! I still have hummingbirds coming to my feeder, but that will change in another week or so. They will head south soon to avoid the harsh winter.
This week I have included a short story that I wrote a while ago, but decided to take it a step further and turned it into a novelette. It begins in Victorian London with an early snowstorm and is titled “The Dark and Foggy Night”.
Next, we have a poem written by Angie Rose Carnegie and I’m sure you can all relate if you have small children around. Computers and cell phones are so not my generation. The title of this poem is “Role Reversal”.
Robert O’Meara has written a story about an elderly woman, neglected and forgotten, and how she tries to help another discarded life. The story is titled “Debris”.
Our first short story this week is a poignant story written by Angie Rose Carnegie and titled “Regrets”. It aptly describes thoughts at a funeral. The second is a reminder that winter is drawing closer, written by Deb Rouleau and titled “The Sound of Silence”.
Please remember to send comments for the writers, and if you have stories or poems that you would like to share, send them to brendashort@writersblog.ca
