Short’s Shorts for March 10th

Hello everyone,

I have sad news. I had to take down my bird feeders because I found two sick birds on my deck. So there is bird flu going around and I don’t want to spread it to the other birds. On a brighter note? Well, it’s snowing again, isn’t it?

Please join me this week to enjoy a delightful memoir from Dian Bowers, titled “The Skating Rink”, a glimpse into her childhood and memories of her loving grandparents. Gotta love Grandpa!

Then a poem from one of my newest contributors. A raw, unvarnished poem that will open your eyes to the brutalities of war from Sofia Saalik, titled “My Love”.

This is followed by a St. Partick’s Day story. I wrote “Through the Looking Glass” as the result of a challenge issued by my writing group – to write about a lucky or unlucky mirror.

The last story for this week is a continuation of our latest story chain. Chapter four of “One Portal, One World, One Seed At a Time”, by Orianna Palermo, another new contributor. The previous chapters can be found in the Archives under Story Chains.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th. May you be in heaven half and hour before the devil knows you’re dead!

Enjoy!

Bren
