Hello everyone,
Well, it’s been over a year since I started this blog and most of you have been with me since the beginning. I hope this week’s stories are entertaining and as usual, I appreciate all of your comments.
This week there are more stories with a scary tone, as it’s almost Halloween. Don’t forget to send me your scary stories by midnight, Wednesday, Oct 26th. for a chance to win $20 cash and to be published on the blog.
I begin with “The Green Light” written by myself, an unfortunate consequence of too much liquor. Then a new story chain, “Fresh and Forgotten”, chapter one written by J.C. Kavanagh. This one has a scary chapter four, written by our very own ‘Boris Karloff’, Teri-Lyn Smethurst, but you’ll have to wait for that. Stay tuned… Next, another spooky poem by myself, titled “Goulish Tale”. And, finally, a curious tale from Michelle Dinnick, titled “Mystical Mud”. Got to get me some of that!

Hello everyone,
Join me for this week’s stories and poems on writingblog.ca. As it’s October now, the theme of the stories will be Halloween and all things spooky. This week’s story is titled “The Demon Drink” written by myself. Then, finally the last part of the Story Chain “Helen and Jim” that you’ve been waiting for, written by Tammi Tipler-Priolo. This is followed by a poem about a dream, triggered by reading too much poetry at bedtime, titled “Join Us” and written by me. Finally, another, humorous story written by Mike Crompton and titled, “Fire, Fire!”
I hope you enjoy these stories, but remember that the authors appreciate any comments that you send along. Also, I am dangerously low on material from all of the writers out there and am calling for submissions. Please send to brendashort@writingblog.ca
There is a competition open to everyone, worldwide. Write me a spooky story and send to me by October 26th for a chance to win cash and be published on my website…details are on the website writingblog.ca

Hello everyone,
Dian Bowers has been a volunteer wearing many different hats over the years. Read about a lifetime of selfless dedication to others by this amazing woman and how she was recognized and decorated last year by our own community here in New Tecumseth. You will find her story in News and Current Events. Well done Dian!

Hello everyone,
Here I am again, inviting you to sign on writingblog.ca for an entertaining read. You may be wondering why you haven’t heard from me in a few weeks, but as I was running low on stories from my contributing authors, I had to put the blog on hold for a month.
Now we are in October, and also in Autumn, the most colourful season of the year. This week’s contributions are as follows. A delightful nature poem by Mary Penner, titled “Life In Our Backyard”, a poignant story by Angie Rose-Carnegie following the recent tragic and unnecessary murder of a Policeman, titled “The Flag Flies At Half Mast”, and a story by me, titled “The Four Seasons Of Life”. Finally, the third chapter of our current story chain, titled “Helen and Jim”, by me. The previous chapters can be found in Archives, under Story Chains.
Please don’t forget to send me your stories for an opportunity to be published and remember, your comments as always, are appreciated by the authors.
For those of you that are acquainted with Tammy Tipler-Priolo, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She is recovering from a serious accident that happened while she was on vacation and she is now home. Hopefully, she will be back with us soon.
Don’t forget to send those stories…
