Short’s Shorts for July 7th

Hello everyone,

I am finally in my new address and it’s been a hectic few weeks. I miss my bird feeders. I’ve put one of them up in the garden, but we have no trees planted yet, so not too many birds around this area.

Well. we’re fully into summer now and I have to put out a call for stories. I’m holding on to some of your stories in case you were wondering, as they are seasonal, or holiday specific. I will feature them later in the year. Today, I have a story written by me and titled Jack and the Djinn. It was written in answer to a writing challenge and is a story about finding something, but missing out on an opportunity.

This week’s poem was also written by me and is titled “Both Eyes on the Ground”. This time, the subject of the poem is hard up but is lucky enough to find money, so it has a fortunate ending.

The last story is written by Robert O’Meara – a charming story about courage and love, titled “Holding Hands.” This story is one that I wanted to publish last month, but couldn’t find the time to update the blog.
